The Delaware Art Museum recently underwent a 3-year massive remodeling and reconstruction of its Kentmere Parkway site.
At the time this brochure was printed, the construction site was quite an eyesore, the project was over budget, behind schedule, and the general public was raising some hard questions.
This brochure was a means of assuring the public that with patience and understanding, the new museum would be a fabulous place to be and an asset to the community.
I faced the difficulty of finding images that would illustrate the future Museum, rather than just the muddy construction site. Focusing on the unusual mix of construction materials, I took photos of some of the contractor's samples of copper siding, stone, and UV-glass to give a peek into what the new building might look like.
Beyond the building, I pulled images from our past programs, to remind people that the Museum is more than just the building, but the experiences that happen within and around it, and to get them to look forward to the old favorites as well as some new happenings. |
