Architectural Model Building 101- Week three

Step nine:
Freak out at the realization there's only three weeks to go. Take Xanax. Haul the whole thing outside, and spray with gray primer.

Step ten:
Add more putty when primer coat really shows all those places you missed when sanding. Rejoice as putty dries really fast in the sun.

Step eleven:
Prime over the re-puttied areas. Commune with visitors from outer space who mistook the primed model for the surface of the moon. Start masking out paved areas with friskit film.
  Step twelve:
After masking the paved areas, spray sandstone color over concrete paths and sidewalks. Keep dog away from model. Chase dog down street when she gets loose from yard. Take more Xanax.

Step thirteen:
Mask and paint areas outside property line with suede brown finish. These areas will probably contain the title panel and greenways map.
  Step fourteen:
Move entire model into the shade after realizing that friskit film melts in hot sun. Mask off anything that isn't going to be covered with grass.

Step fifteen:
Spray really smelly, super sticky glue over entire base. Dispense grass flocking mixture using specially designed, hi-tech shaking canister. Curse loudly when wind blows it away before it sticks.
  Step sixteen:
Move the whole thing back indoors. Close workroom door to keep feline construction manager from walking on model. Peel up masked areas. Jump up and down and hoot because it's finally starting to look like something.

Step seventeen:
Test landscaping supplies. Place found rock into area indicated on plans as "rock outcropping." Add some of those trees you've been making and some ivy. Make vroom vroom noises as you "drive" the tiny minivan up the road.
  Step eighteen:
Stand back and admire the "still-rough-but-getting-there" view from Kentmere parkway.
